This page explains how to delete your Thoughtfluence account and the data associated with it. It also explains how to remove data we received from third-party platforms (Google/YouTube, Meta/Facebook/Instagram/Threads, X, TikTok, Twitch, Spotify, Substack, Patreon, GitHub, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and others). This page is the “Data Deletion Instructions URL” we provide to OAuth providers, including Meta, that require one as a condition of platform approval.
1. Delete your account from inside Thoughtfluence
Sign in, then go to Settings → Account → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, deletion is queued immediately. You will receive an email confirmation when the purge completes.
2. Delete your account by email
Send an email to privacy@thoughtfluence.io from the email address associated with your account, with the following:
- Subject: Delete my account
- The email address registered to your Thoughtfluence account.
- Optional: your Thoughtfluence username or creator URL.
We will confirm receipt within 7 calendar days and complete deletion within 30 days, subject to limited legal-retention obligations described in Section 5.
3. Disconnect a single platform without deleting your account
Sign in and go to Settings → Connections, then click “Disconnect” next to any platform. Disconnecting:
- Revokes our OAuth tokens for that platform.
- Deletes platform-specific data (handles, page IDs, follow records, cached content) within 24 hours.
- Leaves your Thoughtfluence account otherwise intact.
4. Provider-initiated deletion (revoking from the platform side)
If you revoke Thoughtfluence’s access from inside a third-party platform’s settings, we honor that signal and delete platform-specific data within 24 hours of the next sync.
4.1 Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads)
If your Thoughtfluence account is linked to a Meta product, you may request deletion through Meta directly:
- Open Facebook and go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites.
- Find Thoughtfluence in the list.
- Click Remove.
Meta will send us a deletion request that includes a confirmation code. We process the request within 30 days and delete all data we received from Meta in connection with your account. To check the status of a Meta-initiated request, email privacy@thoughtfluence.io with the confirmation code.
4.2 Google (YouTube, Google Sign-In)
- Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Find Thoughtfluence and click Remove access.
4.3 X (Twitter)
- Visit x.com/settings/connected_apps.
- Find Thoughtfluence and click Revoke access.
4.4 TikTok, Twitch, Spotify, GitHub, Patreon, Substack, Bluesky, Mastodon
Each provider exposes a connected-apps or authorized-applications page in their account settings. Removing Thoughtfluence there will trigger the same 24-hour token-and-data purge described above.
5. What is deleted and what is retained
Deleted on account deletion:
- Your account record, profile, and authentication credentials.
- OAuth access and refresh tokens for all connected platforms.
- Creator content (links, handles, bios, theme settings).
- Follow events, click events, and per-fan analytics tied to your account.
- Fan account data (saved-creator lists, library items, notes, tags) if you are a fan.
Retained as required by law or legitimate business need:
- Billing records and invoices for up to 7 years (tax and accounting law).
- Aggregated, de-identified analytics that cannot be reasonably linked back to you.
- Records related to security investigations, fraud, or legal claims, until those matters are resolved.
6. Timeline
- Acknowledgment: within 7 calendar days.
- Token revocation: within 24 hours of request.
- Full purge of personal data: within 30 days.
- Backups: personal data is purged from backups on the next backup-rotation cycle, no longer than 90 days from the deletion request.
