The Craft Behind LEVA

LEVA is the first timber chair designed by Foster + Partners Industrial Design team for Mattiazzi. The design combines craftsmanship with sophisticated machinery to create a comfortable and ergonomic chair. Inspired by the efficiency of form and materiality of an oar, LEVA features steam-bent arms made from a single piece of machined timber. These arms incline slightly, widening at the middle to form a supportive backrest. The chair's gently curved seat enhances comfort, offering a tactile experience that invites users to sit back and relax.

Teso by Foster + Partners Industrial Design and Molteni&C

The Teso table, designed by Foster + Partners Industrial Design in collaboration with Molteni&C, is the successor to the award-winning Arc table and shares a similarly experimental approach to materials and production methods. The table's base is crafted by using a robotic arm, which is used to press and twist a perforated disc of steel into a structured, tapered cylinder. This process gives the table its distinctive character.

XYZ by Foster + Partners Industrial Design and UniFor

Foster + Partners Industrial Design has launched XYZ, a flexible office system that creates more agile and tailored workspaces. Designed in collaboration with the Italian office systems manufacturer UniFor, the pared-back, modular system includes a shelving unit (X), lightweight conference table (Y) and an intuitive sit/stand desk (Z), which work individually or as a set.

ILE by Foster + Partners Industrial Design and Benchmark

The ILE system is a flexible range of interlocking elements to make more of underutilised, in-between spaces in the workplace. Manufactured by Benchmark, the range includes benches, tables, shelves, lockers, and planters which can be connected back-to-back or alongside each other to facilitate different modes of working.

Soft Cells by Foster + Partners Industrial Design and Kvadrat Acoustics

In collaboration with leading textile brand Kvadrat Acoustics, Foster + Partners Industrial Design conducted an intensive programme of material and acoustics research, resulting in the development of Soft Cells – a system of tensioned fabric panels for walls and ceilings. By absorbing sound and optimising the acoustic performance of the space, the panels contribute to clearer communication, increased productivity, and improved wellbeing.

Bathroom furniture range, MA, launches at Salone del Mobile in Milan 2023

MA is a range of bathroom furniture designed by Foster + Partners Industrial Design for Falper. It takes its name from the concept of "in-between space" in Japanese art and culture, which places emphasis on achieving a harmonious balance between the elements and the space between them in any artistic composition. Complementary elements within the range can stand alone or integrate with vertical surfaces, enabling endless configurations tailored to individual needs.

Vea by Foster + Partners Industrial Design and Artemide

Exploring the themes of poise and balance that underpinned the Ixa lighting collection, Foster + Partners Industrial Design has revealed a concept for a large adaptable light fixture with Artemide. A tall stem with an adjustable light source at the top, Vea is capable of providing a wide pool of light from above that can be lowered to create a more intimate lighting effect. Ori launches at Salone del Mobile, Milano 2025

Foster + Partners Industrial Design, and Danese Milano introduce Ori, a sculptural and versatile bird feeder designed to be suspended from a tree branch, as a floor standing feeder, or as a standing water bath. Designed in collaboration with W+, the Swedish lighting manufacturer, Cast is a compact spotlight system defined by a magnetic, interchangeable lens that allows beam angles to be switched with precision and ease. Cast is composed by two interlocking elements, which are joined through a concealed pivoting mechanism that enables smooth manual adjustment – allowing up to 360 degrees of rotation and 90 degrees of tilt. The design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese paper cups, which informed the domed geometry of the lamp’s head.
